Hi, my name is Mikuláš and I’m in the second year of my Bachelor’s studies at Jaderka. I’m an overall positive guy who isn’t afraid of a challenge, even when it’s tough—as my presence at this faculty proves. I ended up here somewhat by accident when my dream career as a military pilot didn't work out for health reasons. Because Jaderka wasn’t my original plan, I didn’t join with an ideal foundation in physics, and getting into the rhythm of faculty life was quite a struggle at first. My biggest passions outside of school are baking and cooking, which I absolutely swear by. Besides those, I love music and play several instruments.
- Why did you enrol at Jaderka?
I enjoyed chemistry at secondary school and was most fascinated by the subject of nuclear power stations. When I was looking for alternatives in case I had to leave the army, I found Jaderka and was intrigued by its study programmes. As soon as I actually had to start planning my return to "civilian life," I found myself deciding between "Strojárna" (the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at CTU) and Jaderka. Despite the fear that I might not manage the studies, I chose Jaderka.
- Would you recommend Jaderka? And who do you think it is not for?
I would definitely recommend Jaderka to anyone interested in the fields we offer, especially those who aren't quite sure yet if they want to be a scientist or an engineer. On the other hand, I don’t think Jaderka is for anyone who has a dislike for maths and physics, or who isn't determined to put all their effort into their studies.
- What do you enjoy about the faculty and what is there to do here?
What I enjoy most about the faculty is the community. Most of the lecturers are very willing to help and will often meet you halfway. They truly try to pass on their knowledge and teach you something, which creates a very pleasant atmosphere.
- Do you have any hobbies outside of Jaderka?
I spend my time outside of school (if the workload allows) on a wide range of activities. I love baking and cooking the most, but I also run and go to the gym. I’m also fond of playing the piano or guitar, riding my motorbike, or going gliding.
- What is student life like at FNSPE?
Student life at Jaderka is really nice and varied. Personally, I enjoy the pub quizzes or events like "Night at Jaderka" the most, but given the number of events organised here, almost everyone is guaranteed to find something they enjoy.
