Prague Hosted the Financial Committee Meeting of the RRB for the New EIC Accelerator
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT), the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering (FJFI), Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), in collaboration with the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, hosted the fifth meeting of the financial committee of the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) project. The meeting took place on June 5–6, 2025, at Villa Lanna. During this session, representatives of funding agencies and member countries involved in this international project discussed details concerning the construction and current state of preparations for the EIC accelerator and its flagship international experiment, ePIC.
Akiry Furusawiho (Univerzita Tokio), prof. Radima Filipa (Univerzita Palackého) a prof. Igora Jexe (ČVUT v Praze).
We welcomed Korean partners at FNSPE CTU. The project focused on APR reactor technology is nearing completion
In May, the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) hosted a meeting related to the ongoing project “Joint Cooperative Research Focused on the Transfer of Technological Knowledge and Qualification of Accident-Tolerant Fuel for New Nuclear Power Plants,” which aims to enhance the readiness of the Czech nuclear sector for the Korean APR reactor technology. This three-year bilateral project is led on the Czech side by UJP Praha a.s., in cooperation with the Department of Nuclear Reactors at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering (FNSPE CTU) and the company MABAVE. On the Korean side, the project is headed by KHNP CRI, collaborating with the KAERI research institute and KINGS University.
WATCH ONLINE: Colloquium with professor Tomáš Jungwirth
You can now watch the FNSPE CTU colloquium with Professor Tomáš Jungwirth on the topic Altermagnetism: An Unconventional Spin-Ordered Phase of Matter on our YouTube channel HERE. This talk explores how the newly discovered altermagnetism could revolutionize spintronic technology by overcoming the fundamental limitations of conventional magnetism. IMPORTANT! The lecture is in English.
