Nuclear Safety, Security and Forensics
Course abbreviation:
Course code: P0713D110002
Course duration: 4 years
Research field characteristics
The new study programme is focused on nuclear security of nuclear installations, nuclear materials, sources of ionizing radiation and nuclear forensics. A unique feature of the new PhD. programme consists in relatedness of nuclear security of nuclear installations, nuclear materials, sources of ionizing radiation, and nuclear safety of nuclear installations and its synergies; particularly in emergency preparedness and forensics methods used in various nuclear fields. This novel and prospective multidisciplinary interconnection of safety, security, prevention of emergency situations, nuclear investigative methods and their synergies significantly distinguishes this new study programme from the existing PhD. programmes. This approach offers new perspectives to the highly specialised academic training in the Czech Republic, the Central European region, and the programme has an ambition of becoming attractive worldwide.
This multidisciplinary doctoral study programme is carried out by four departments from two faculties of the Czech Technical University in Prague: Department of Nuclear Reactors (FJFI), Department of Dosimetry and Application of Ionizing Radiation (FJFI), Department of Nuclear Chemistry (FJFI) a Department of Information Security (FIT).
