Academic Senate - FNSPE CTU in Prague

The Faculty Academic Senate is a self-governing, autonomous body established by the Higher Education Act, elected by the academia (i.e. academic staff and students), and representing it. Its members are elected from the academia.

Responsibilities of the Faculty Academic Senate are that the Senate

approves the proposed appointment of the Dean or his removal from office;
approves allocation of Faculty funds and monitors their use;
approves internal regulations of the Faculty and forwards them for approval to the University Academic Senate;
approves the conditions for admission to the degree programmes offered at the Faculty;
approves the annual activity report and the annual report on the Faculty's Finances;
approves the strategic plan of the University and its annual updates;
approves the Dean’s proposals to appoint or dismiss members of the Disciplinary Committee and the members of the Scientific Board of the Faculty;
comments on the proposed study programmes of the Faculty and the Rector’s intention to appoint the vice-deans;
decides on establishment, merger, amalgamation, splitting or dissolution of Faculty departments.

Meetings of the Faculty Academic Senate are open to the public.
