Department of Dosimetry and Application of Ionizing Radiation (14116)

Teaching

Teaching places emphasis on experimental nuclear physics and technology, personal dosimetry, environmental issues, dosimetry of nuclear power facilities, radiation metrology, and the applications of ionising radiation in science, technology, medicine, and other fields where radiation sources or radionuclides are used. Great attention is also devoted to the application of computational methods for studying interactions of radiation with matter and for assessing the biological effects of radiation based on the determination of relevant dosimetric quantities.

Science and Research

The department participates in addressing research tasks in both fundamental and applied research, particularly in the fields of dosimetry and radiation protection, as well as in selected applications of ionising radiation. In their teaching and research activities, members of the department collaborate closely with selected departments at universities and research institutes, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
