Bachelor's degree
The Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering (FNSPE), Czech Technical University in Prague, offers a three-year Bachelor’s degree programme in full-time study. Students attend lectures, tutorials, and seminars throughout the week. From the second year, they also have the opportunity to become involved in research teams.
During the first two years, many study tracks share a common foundation in mathematics, physics, computer science, and languages. This structure allows students, subject to meeting certain minimum requirements, to change their initial choice of specialization. In this way, they are given more time to explore the study options at FNSPE and make a well-informed decision about their further academic direction.
Upon completing the required number of credits (180), fulfilling all compulsory courses, submitting and defending a Bachelor’s thesis, and successfully passing the final state examination, graduates are awarded the academic degree of Bachelor (Bc.). The graduation ceremony takes place in the historic Bethlehem Chapel. Afterwards, graduates may continue their studies in a Master’s degree program or enter professional practice.
MASTEr's degree
The duration of study is two years, offered in either full-time or combined form. Full-time students attend lectures, tutorials, and seminars throughout the week, while combined study is organized in intensive blocks held on Fridays and Saturdays.
After successfully passing the entrance examinations, applicants may choose from a range of programmes and their specializations, many of which build directly on the corresponding Bachelor’s degree tracks.
Upon completing the required number of credits (120), fulfilling all compulsory courses, submitting and defending a Master’s thesis, and successfully passing the final state examination, graduates are awarded the academic degree of Engineer (Ing., equiv. MSc.). The graduation ceremony is held in the historic Bethlehem Chapel. Graduates may then continue to doctoral studies (see Doctoral Programmes) or pursue professional careers.
