The faculty offers university studies mainly in full-time form, and in selected programs also in combined form.
The main pillars of education are lectures, exercises, professional practice, and consultations. Studies end with a state final exam and the defense of a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral thesis. We emphasize that final theses should be creative in nature and that their preparation and processing should be directly related to specific practical tasks.
Studying at FJFI is unique in that we also develop scientific and research activities in all fields, so there is a close link between scientific and pedagogical work. Students are directly involved in scientific and research programs and prepare for scientific work in multidisciplinary and culturally diverse teams. The students' professional work is linked to specific issues from companies (e.g., IBM, ČEZ, ČNB, IKEM) or research centers (e.g., CERN, BNL, ELI, ITER).
Students at our faculty have the opportunity to participate in internships abroad, exchange programs, or long-term study in foreign countries with financial support from CTU or designated foundations. CTU offers the Erasmus+, Extatic, and Athens programs, and students can also apply for scholarships from the Hlávka Foundation and a number of projects at FJFI.
The faculty also organizes lifelong learning for the public and professional training for scientific workers.
UNDERGRADUATED - Bachelor's degree
- 3 years
- full-time only
- completed with a Bachelor's degree
- study plans
Students attend lectures, exercises, and seminars throughout the week. From the second year onwards, students also join research teams and work on their year-long or bachelor's theses.
In the first two years, many fields of study share a common foundation in mathematics, physics, computer science, and languages. This makes it possible to change the original choice of field if interested and if certain minimum requirements for the given field are met. This gives students more time to familiarize themselves with the study options at FJFI and make a better choice about their future direction.
