Academic Senate

The Faculty’s Academic Senate is a self-governing representative body established by the Higher Education Act. Its members are elected by the academic community (students as well as professors).

The Academic Senate primarily focuses on:

  • proposing the appointment of the dean or their removal from office

  • approving the faculty’s budget and oversees its spending

  • approving internal regulations of the faculty and forwarding them for approval to the university’s academic senate

  • approving admission requirements for study programmes taught at the faculty

  • approving the faculty’s annual activity report and annual economy report

  • approving the faculty’s longterm goals and their yearly updates

  • approving the Dean’s proposal for appointing and removing members of the disciplinary committee and members of the scientific board
  • expressing its positions on the faculty’s study programme proposals and Vice-Deans appointed by the Rector
  • deciding on establishing, merging, dividing or dissolution of faculty department
