about the programme
The study programme is intended for students interensted in modern mathematical methods and their uses in practice. It focuses on algebraic and analytic tools, which can be used for example in economy, informatics, biology or medicine. In the course of their studies, students evolve their logical and analytic thinking and are lead towards independent solving of mathematical problems, including their numerical processing.
programme content
Students will attend core courses focused on:
- calculus,
- discrete mathematics,
- linear algebra.
career prospects
Graduates have strong foundational knowledge in mathematics—especially algebra and analysis—which they can apply in practice. When solving problems, they are capable of thinking systematically as well as creatively. In addition to physical theories, graduates also acquire basic knowledge of informatics through elective courses. Graduates can pursue careers aligned with their interests not only in science and research, the financial sector (e.g., modeling of instruments and markets), insurance (e.g., risk management), the private sector (e.g., process optimization), cybernetics, artificial intelligence, or data analysis (e.g., predictive models), but also in biology, chemistry, or medicine. The study programme also prepares graduates for further education—many continue in a follow-up master's study programme at FNSPE or other universities.
