About the programme
The Applied Algebra and Analysis follow-up master’s study programme focuses on advanced algebraic and analytic methods applied in fields such as informatics, biology, medicine, and economics. Students further develop their analytical thinking and gain proficiency in a broad range of mathematical disciplines. The programme places strong emphasis on independent work, particularly through projects and the final thesis.
programme content
Students will attend core courses focused on:
-
solving and programming partial differential equations,
- advanced parts of linear algebra,
-
actuarial science, quantum groups or machine learning.
Career prospects
Graduates have extensive knowledge in applied mathematics and, through elective courses, also gain a basic grounding in informatics. Thanks to this combination, they can pursue careers in applied research, technical fields, the economic sector, as well as in chemistry, biology, and medicine. They work in the financial sector (e.g., investment support), insurance, data science (e.g., data analysis and processing, machine learning), or in the commercial sector (e.g., process optimization, market analysis). In addition to scientific work in institutions such as the Czech Academy of Sciences, graduates can continue their studies in the doctoral programme at FNSPE.
