All students are required to have health insurance coverage while enrolled at the university.
-
EU, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Iceland students: Bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and register at the Insurance Centre for Foreigners upon arrival. The centre will issue an official document that allows you to access health services for free while in the Czech Republic.
-
Non-EU students: Health insurance is required to obtain visa. Upon arrival in the Czech Republic, you must get a “long-term complex health insurance” for the duration of your studies. The average annual cost is approximately 300 EUR. Several companies offer health insurance for foreign students, including VZP/PVZP, Maxima/AXA, Slavia, and UNIQA.
