about the programme
The Quantum Technologies study programme is intended for students interested in advanced physics, mathematics and informatics. This multidisciplinary programme connects theory with practice within the fields of quantum mechanics, solid state physics and laser technology. Additionally, students learn to work with modern computer technologies and gather useful experience in laboratories. The study programme is further expanded by two foreign language classes and cooperation with foreign projects.
Programme content
Students will attend core courses focused on:
- quantum mechanics,
- quantum laboratory,
- waves, optics and atomic physics.
Career prospects
Study programme graduates have wide knowledge in mathematics, physics and informatics, which they are capable of using in quantum technology, and technical practice fields. Graduates are capable of working with laboratory equipment, individually analysing problems, and following field trends. After their studies, graduates can pursue careers in scientific research, technical companies and industries, for example in developing nanomaterials or laser technologies. They can also purse informatics or secure communications. Thanks to their language competencies and experience with international teams, graduated are fully prepared to work in international settings. Those wanting to further their education can continue in the follow-up master's programme.
