about the programme
The programme focuses on solid state physics and its engineering and scientific applications. Students engage in both the theoretical description of material properties and the practical use of experimental methods and computational modelling. Emphasis is placed on linking physical knowledge with engineering practice and interdisciplinary applications. Specialized laboratory courses and research projects are an integral part of the programme.
Programme content
Students will attend core courses focused on:
- physics of metals, semiconductors, dielectrics, and solid state matter,
- physics of surfaces and interfaces
- computer simulations of materials and internal processes
career prospects
Graduates find employment in research, development, and industry, for example in microelectronics, sensorics, photonics, superconductivity, or imaging technologies. Thanks to their analytical thinking and broad outlook, graduates also find opportunities in data analytics, management, or the financial sector.
