Offer Description
The Department of Physics at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering [1] at the Czech Technical University in Prague invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral researcher position starting in September 2025.
Topics of the research: fluid-dynamic modelling of relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC Beam Energy Scan and FAIR energies, constraining transport properties using Bayesian analysis.
The research will be conducted in collaboration with Dr. Iurii Karpenko (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and Prof. Boris Tomášik within a project funded by the Czech Science Foundation (GACR).
The phenomenology/modelling group currently consists of two staff members (Dr. Iurii Karpenko and Prof. Boris Tomášik), PhD and master students. Overall, the Department of Physics is a vibrant environment comprising the heavy-ion phenomenology group, as well as experts on ultra-peripheral collisions and experimental groups related to STAR, ePIC, ALICE and ATLAS experiments [2].
